Thank you for showing interest in Apple Tree West. Our center is a larger center that is licensed to care for 270 children ranging in age from 4 weeks to 11 years. Our center has nine classrooms that hold anywhere from 15 to 20 children. Not to brag or anything, but we also have a large gymnasium, which comes in handy on days when it’s too cold to play outside.

Our Infant/Toddler rooms focus on providing exceptional care by meeting their physical and emotional needs. Each room has a 5:1 child per staff ratio. To help encourage communication between staff and parents each child will have a daily sheet indicating what needs were met for your child throughout the day.

Our Preschool rooms have a 10:1 child per staff ratio. Each room is set up with a flexible schedule along with a weekly creative curriculum which focuses on meeting your child’s physical, mental, and emotional needs. Our curriculums are completed by utilizing of the South Dakota Early Learning Guidelines. We also utilize the Montessori area on a daily basis.

Our afterschool program utilizes our gymnasium for snack, stations, and of course, gym games in the afternoon. Our after school program consists of three groups. We have a Kindergarten group, a 1st grade group, and then a 2nd and up group. Each group has a 15:1 child per staff ratio. Throughout the evening each group will rotate to a home work/ reading station, child initiative play stations, and a staff initiative station.

For safety measures our center has a secured entryway along with cameras set up throughout the building. The cameras are not internet accessible, but you are more than welcome to set up a time with the director or assistant director to review the camera if necessary.
